Lara Mehr Currie, President

Lara Currie is the president and co-founder of Currie Associates, Inc. She is a veteran of both the trade association management business and the hazardous materials/dangerous goods transportation industry. She has over 20 years experience in assisting trade associations develop and market membership programs, domestic and international meetings and seminars, creation and management of publications programs and other non-dues revenue programs.

She serves as the administrator for the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA) and the International Vessel Operators Dangerous Goods Association, Inc. (IVODGA, formerly VOHMA).

Previously she served as the Executive Officer, Warren County Association of Realtors where she Directed the activities of a 400+ member association and performed all meeting management and event planning for the association, served as staff liaison to the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs and functioned as public relations representative for the association at all local and state business events. She also served as the Director of Marketing for the American Trucking Associations where she directed the activities of a large marketing and customer services department. Prior to that she served as the Director of Communications for the Arlington Virginia Chamber of Commerce where she performed all public relations, meeting planning, publications management, and non-dues revenue generation functions.

Ms. Currie has published several leading publications utilized by the hazardous materials/dangerous goods transportation industry. The Complete Comply Guide to 49 CFR; The Complete Comply Navigating the IMDG Code; 49 CFR Training Program; The IMDG Code Training Program; 49 CFR General Awareness Training Program.

Ms. Currie is listed in Who's Who Advertising and Who's Who of American Women.

She received her B.S. degree in Business Administration from George Mason University.
